After seeing 's gallery, I was reminded of how I do have love for a few American Civil War men...
Okay, a little personal story about me here. It started back in 8th grade. We were reading The Killer Angels in Language Arts. We would have been reading something else full of swear words, but the immature boys in our class ruined that. Looking back, I'm glad they did. Our teacher wanted us to write an essay relating to the Civil War. Anything; person, battle, weapons, didn't have to be in the book. I decided a person was my speed. So I started looking at officers and generals.... one suddenly jumped out at me. He commanded For Sumter at the start of the war... Robert Anderson. He was a Major at the time, but was promoted to Brigadier General after his performance at Sumter. His final rank was Brevet Major General. But yeah, I wrote a whole paper on him, got an A, fell in love. Anderson is the sexy fellow on the left.
The other guy, why that's Major General William Tecumseh Sherman! One of the awesomest generals of the Civil War, and possibly ever! No one will ever take my love of Andrew Jackson military power, but Sherman ALMOST gets into the ring, in my opinion. He always refused to go into politics though. Not that one could blame him, it can be a crazy game to play. Being a military man probably is better He is the fellow on the right of course.
But yeah, Robert Anderson and William T. Sherman. My favorite Union men. I did my usual line art, but then used only the airbrush tool for coloring. Yeah, something a little diff. Yay for color experimentation. Should do more of that. Also, doing only gray scale colors is not the easiest, despite the fact I love history and old timey pictures! Haha!
